Your Greater Self

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Lord, form in me a right understanding of who you are. Don’t let me limit you to trite platitudes or ignore aspects of your character I struggle with. Dazzle me with your breadth and depth so I can’t live comfortably in small-mindedness. Challenge my long-held assumptions with the stark truth of your holy word. If that takes a shaking of my faith, then rattle it to its foundations. Help me love you for who you are–all of what you are–because you deserve a love that is genuine and true. Amen.

Jeremiah 32:39-41

I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.
