Jeremiah 6:16

This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

Reflection

God does not ask for blind obedience or loyalty. He urges us to consider the cost of following him – what it costs if we do and, more importantly, what is costs if we don’t. He has shown us the way of life and eternity since the beginning. We can trust his word – trust him – and confidently get back to the basics of living as we were designed to in fellowship with him.

Prayer

Gracious and Wise Savior, thank you for opening the way for soul-deep rest and fulfillment through your sacrificial life, death, and resurrection. Reveal to me my stubbornness and distrust toward you so that I am moved to genuine repentance. There is no sacrifice I can make that isn’t worth the eternal glory and joy you offer. Thank you for your patience, grace, and mercy toward me as I slowly mature in relationship with you. Amen
