Would I?

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Holy Savior, you set the ultimate example of loving sacrifice when you gave up your only son, a triune part of yourself, in order to save undeserving humanity from the deadly wages of our sins. Am I willing to emulate that example? Like Queen Esther, would I be willing to lay my life down for the good of others? Are my convictions so secure in your kingdom that I would risk everything to serve it? Humble and empower me, Lord, to wholeheartedly love you, your people, and those you died to save even if that requires great sacrifice on my part. May I count every crown a joy to lay before you. Amen.

Esther 7:3-4

Then Queen Esther answered, “If I have found favor with you, Your Majesty, and if it pleases you, grant me my life—this is my petition. And spare my people—this is my request. For I and my people have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king.”
