Bad Days

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Merciful and Gracious Father, thank you that bad days pass. Sometimes in this fallen world, we have stretches of time when nothing seems to go right. Days when even the simplest of things become so complicated that we just want to pack it all in and give up. Days when existing feels pointless. But you are there in those moments commiserating, forgiving, and guiding us. You work all things – frustrating and grievous things included – together for the good of those who love you. Thank you, Lord, for your understanding and compassion. Thank you for your creative hand working good out of bad situations. Help us practice thanksgiving when those days arise that we would hit our heads to the pillow not in angst but in peaceful hope for a better tomorrow. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-24

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
