Blessings and Curses

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Lord, it would be so much easier to pray curses down upon those who wrong or cross me. There is such overwhelming injustice in this world, and my rage about it seems completely impotent. But the more I think about it, the things that anger me most are petty offences again my comfort. They’re hardly worth getting worked up over. This betrays weaknesses in my own heart more than the flaws of others. So instead of curses, Lord, I ask that you bless those who have hurt, wronged, or inconvenienced me today. Extend them an extra measure of your grace and teach me to do the same. Amen.

Luke 6:27-28

“But I say to you who hear,Love your enemies,do good to those who hate you,28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
