Boundaries of Unwillingness

Writer: Megan L. AndersonMegan L. Anderson

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Sanctifying Spirit, meet me in this moment as I honestly recognize and admit the things I don’t want to give up for the sake of knowing and being transformed by Christ. What boundaries of unwillingness have I drawn between us? What fears do those boundaries reveal? What flaws and false beliefs do they indicate? Guide me through the course from acknowledgement to confession to repentance to transfiguration. Give me the courage and strength to do this hard and holy work of faith. Amen.

Luke 14:26-27, 33

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not [b]give up all his own possessions.
