Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Lord God, thank you for the hope and reassurance of knowing that no matter how far I fall away from you, your arms remain wide-stretched to embrace me again when I turn back toward you. I pray that you would help me practice the discipline of refocusing my whole self back on you. Guide me through both the internal and external changes of repentance, moving my heart through the mourning of sin so that I would follow through with practical action daily. Thank you for the rest and comfort of your unwavering compassion. Your love is my sanctuary and I pray that your Holy Spirit would renovate my heart to match it. Amen.

Joel 2:12-13

“Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
