Cycle Breaker

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Holy Lord, thank you for weighing the content of my heart over the content of my life. I may not live a perfect life, but I can have a heart fully committed to you, and you honor that. Thank you that no matter how I was raised or what the influences that have shaped my circumstances are, your Holy Spirit empowers me to be a cycle breaker. You free me to walk faithfully, boldly, and righteously despite any and all odds stacked against me. Thank you for your liberating work within me. Amen.

1 Kings 15:11-14

Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done. He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his ancestors had made. He even deposed his grandmother Maakah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive image for the worship of Asherah. Asa cut it down and burned it in the Kidron Valley. Although he did not remove the high places, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.
