Days Behind, Days Ahead

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.


Father God, often I find myself reminiscing about the best years of my life so far when I was younger, more carefree, and had a solid infrastructure for my physical, spiritual, intellectual, and relational best. In those days it felt like I could reach out and literally touch you, I sensed your nearness so intimately. Now, many years later and in very different circumstances with much greater challenges and lack of those support systems I used to enjoy, I tend to feel farther away from you despite knowing you have always remained close to me. Spur me on with hope and direction, Lord, that I would do my part in making my way back to your side. Amen.


Job 29:2-4

“How I long for the months gone by,

for the days when God watched over me,

when his lamp shone on my head

and by his light I walked through darkness!

Oh, for the days when I was in my prime,

when God’s intimate friendship blessed my house,
