Father, crime runs rampant everywhere I look. Story after story of break-ins, shootings, and drug busts scrolls across news tickers and social media feeds. It’s seeped into entertainment and become an accepted part of culture. Your word says there is nothing new under the sun, but corruption seems to have reached saturation point in society today. Have we lost hope for peace? Are we apathetic in working toward protecting the most vulnerable? Do we lack compassion for those enslaved by lives of crime? Lord, soften my heart toward the vilified. Don’t let me harden with judgement and dismissal. Fill me with passion for creating an example of Heavenly community on earth. Amen.
