Faith Through Flesh
Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.
Great Healer, thank you for caring not only about our spiritual wellbeing, but our physical bodies as well. You see with perfect clarity into every component of every cell comprising us. You number the hairs on our heads and none fall without your notice. You knitted us together in our mothers’ wombs and watch over our development from the moment of conception to the last drawn breath. Thank you for caring about our mortal experience and for coming to earth to experience it for yourself. You empathize with our every ache and pain and offer us a comfort only you can. As we grapple with the limitations and disorders of our bodies, help us use those moments as inspiration to draw closer to you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Psalm 139: 13-16
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
