Almighty Healer, who hasn’t been touched by the ripple effect of cancer? How many people go without medicine because of the cost? Why do those who served and sacrificed for their country receive the most substandard care? The amount of pain and suffering in this world seems insurmountable. But your word reminds us of your desire to cure not only bodies, but spirits. Your care is infinite and complete. Help us, Lord, be agents of healing. May our words be kind. May our hands be poised to help. May our hearts be tender in compassion and firm in faith. Use us, Father, to mend the brokenhearted and soothe ailing bodies in the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
James 5:14-15
Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
