Holding Traditions in the Light

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

“For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;

he is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the nations are idols,

but the Lord made the heavens.

Splendor and majesty are before him;

strength and joy are in his dwelling place”

(1 Chronicles 16:25-27).

Praise Him all creatures here below!

Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,

ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;

bring an offering and come before him.

Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

Tremble before him, all the earth!

The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved”

(1 Chronicles 16: 28-30).

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host!

“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying:

‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,

to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength

and honor and glory and praise’” (Revelation 5:11-12).

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:15-17).

As we enter the Advent season, let us hold our traditions in the light scripture and remember the greatness of our God who gifted us with Christ. Amen.
