Impotent Rage

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Holy God, I am filled with what feels like impotent rage. It’s anger at people for their hypocrisy, willful shortsightedness and narrowmindedness, ingrained injustice, corruption, and anger at myself for my own failings and shortcomings moral and otherwise. Change for the better is possible, but none of us seem willing to put in the work to make it sustainable. What do I do with this? Where should I channel it and how? Remind me, God, of how you are bigger than all these overwhelming issues. Show me your hand at work that I would know where to be of use. Turn the misguided resentment in me into righteous anger that powers the work of your kingdom in this fallen world. Amen.

Ephesians 4:26

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.
