Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.
Lord, I get so disillusioned with the state of affairs in this world that I find holding hope for the future difficult. When pettiness is glorified, violence no longer shocks, and corruption is built into the societal framework, a new world bound together by unity in Christ is hard to imagine. Help me, Lord, not to sink into despondency or apathy, but lay the groundwork for your glorious reign. Help me live first and foremost as a citizen of your kingdom. Use me not only as a critical voice of wickedness, but a worker for peace, redemption, and grace. Amen.
Ephesians 1:7-10
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment – to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
