My Deepest Desire

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Father, I might not show it, but the deepest longing of my heart is simply to be with you. And yet I fail almost daily to carve out the personal time you deserve. I take for granted your omnipresence and the privilege of praying anywhere anytime. But nothing replaces the deep sweet richness of sinking into focused communion with you. Lord, increase this desire in me and help me offer you the commitment you deserve. As I make room for the Christ Child in my heart this Christmas season, may I not forget the reason for his coming. Amen.

Psalm 42:1

As the deer pants for streams of water,

so my soul pants for you, my God.
