Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.
Holy Spirit, guide me in orienting my desires and motivations for change toward you and not my selfish ambition or vain conceit. Teach me how to prevent sin from gaining footholds in my life. Words can give wickedness power, so guard my speech as I address temptations. Help me practice speaking of and addressing my sinful inclinations in the confines of confession so as to stop their momentum and hand them over to your holy cleansing power. Refine my heart to a state of purity that reflects your likeness. Amen.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
