Sanctifying Our Technology

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Lord, thank you for the technology that allows friends to commune from half a world away. Thank you for making it possible to connect with one another so quickly and easily. Support, encouragement, and help have never been so readily available from so many places at once. I pray, Lord, that you would guide us in harnessing these resources for good and with wisdom. The screen between us can be used as a mask, hiding the identity behind cruel remarks, divisive arguments, and destructive feedback. Guard our words over devices just as you do our tongues when we speak in person. May all we say and type be glorifying to you and constructive in building your kingdom. Amen.

Ephesians 4:29-32

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
