The Truth of Love

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

God, you are not only the origin of love, but love itself. Do I have an accurate understanding of who you are? Do I truly believe that you are patient and kind? Am I convinced that you are not arrogant, haughty, or self-seeking? In my heart of hearts, do I believe that you don’t keep track of all my faults and wrongdoings? Am I harboring any doubts that you always protect, trust, and hope? Lord, help me know, understand, and accept you for who you truly are. Help me both love you as you deserve to be loved and to accept your love as you intend to give it. Amen.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
