Choosing Glory

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Gracious God, thank you for your loving patience as I wander away from you so quickly and take so long to crawl my way back. I’m sorry I fail you so much so often. Lord, I need transformed vision to see the glory of what you offer in comparison to the cheap imitations and distractions I clamber after instead. Instant gratification over future perfection seduces me time and again. Thank you, Lord, for understanding and showing compassion for my base nature. Thank you for the promise of never abandoning me to it, but rather inviting me to pursue your righteousness instead. Amen.

Colossians 3:1-4

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
