Friends in Arms
Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.
Father, thank you for the compassion of friends who understand us, for friends who don’t hesitate to jump down next to us in the mucky trenches of our personal battles. Thank you for friends who fight alongside us with prayer, generosity, and support. Thank you for those who don’t stop at pat answers or trite phrases to patch over our struggles, but those who thoughtfully act in solidarity. Thank you, Lord, most of all, for friends who point us to Jesus when our human nature fixates on anything but. Bless those friends, Lord. Meet them with divine victory on the fronts of their own battles. Equip us to fight alongside them as they have for us. Amen.
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable?
The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.
