Thank you, Good Shepherd, for holding us close to your heart. Though you are all-powerful, you are a tender and loving caregiver, never forcing us into submission, but gently guiding us. You would not cradle us if you did not delight in us. Help us, Lord, to return that affection to you and trust you wholeheartedly with our lives. When we are tempted to wander out from under your care, help us turn back in obedience instead.
