Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.
Lord, I call you by that title yet fail to recognize your full authority over my life. There I things I withhold from you for fear you’ll ask me to give them up – dreams, habits, securities, etc. This betrays my lack of faith in you. Lord, help me surrender my entire self to you. I know that you want the absolute best for me, and you will never ask me to surrender anything without replacing it with something far better. Reveal to me everything I’m guarding from you and work in me that I would willingly offer it all up as a glad sacrifice so that nothing stands between us. Amen.
1 John 2:15-16
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.
