Passion Remembered

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Lord, how often I forget the great romance of all you’ve done for me. You spoke paradise into existence where we could walk and talk side-by-side. When that perfect world was corrupted by sin, you did not throw up your hands and give it all up for lost. Instead, you paved the way through centuries to return as Savior in the flesh. Through floods and fires, deserts and seas, rises and collapses of kingdoms, you remained true to your vows. You suffered in every conceivable way – even to the point of giving your own life for mine – just to make a way for us to be together again through eternity. There is no greater love story than that. Let me not forget this passionate love you reach for me with among the mundane tasks of life. Help me remember who and whose I am that I would live in such a way that returns that love. Amen.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
